Glencoe's sire Pik Konig was bred to be a jumper; being by Pik As. Pik Konig was known to produce dressage horses of excellent confomation and movement. Pik As was also an excellent producer of international jumpers such as Pesgo and Porta Westfalia.

Gotenfrau, Glencoe's dam, was by the famous stallion Gotthard who for many years was the number one sire of performance horses, especially jumpers in Germany. His offspring were the first in Germany to have won in excess of one million Deitsch Marks.

Gothard sired such talented jumpers as Goldika, Galipolis, Goya, Queensway, Big Q, Graf and Genius to name just a few of his successful offspring.
